TOUR DE MONTCLAIR

Bike&Walk Montclair and the Montclair YMCA announce a joint celebration -- the 8th annual Tour de Montclair and the Y’s Healthy Kid Day! This community cycling and recreation event -- with over 1000 riders last year -- will be held at beautiful Brookdale Park on Sunday, May 16 (rain or shine). The theme of this year's tour, -- "I Bike Montclair!"-- celebrates our goal: to encourage people to bike and walk more often.
Cyclists of all abilities are invited to ride one of 3 routes: a one-mile car-free loop within the park, or the medium (8 mile) or long (14 mile) routes on Montclair's roads. There's a ride for everyone!
Check-in and on-site registration for the Tour de Montclair opens at 9:00 AM. The ride starts at 10 AM, winds throughout Montclair’s blossoming neighborhoods, and ends back at the park with music and entertainment. Young and novice riders are encouraged to take the park loop, which will be closed to cars. Volunteer Ride Captains will help keep riders moving along, and Montclair Police officers and crossing guards will be stationed at many intersections.
On-line registration: $12 per person or $30 per family (up to 5 members).
On-site registration: $15 per person or $35 per family.
All online registrants will receive a collectible 2010 Tour de Montclair t-shirt and route map, and give-aways from our sponsors!
Participants must wear helmets. Anyone younger than 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult, and teens age 14–17 must have a signed permission slip, available online at http://www.bikewalkmontclair.org or on-site.

Montclair YMCA Healthy Kids Day will also be held on May 16 in Brookdale Park, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Participants are encouraged to "Put Play in Your Day" by joining games and activities led by YMCA staff and volunteers.
